There is a general consensus that the pace of our life has accelerated, and that our connectivity has increased. How has the physical presence of art changed or taken on new significance in our present cultural context? Can the idea of “representation” maintain a stable definition through the mega-multiplicities possible with our current modes of digitized communication, and are there artistic possibilities, responsibilities and pitfalls specific to this moment?
